Nick Kismet will go anywhere, do anything, to protect the treasures of the ancient world. But to stop an ancient symbol of power from becoming a weapon of unimaginable terror, he’ll have to go further than he’s ever gone before…. When an old college flame tries to entice him into smuggling a precious relic into the Unites States, Nick Kismet knows there’s something more going on. But before he can get at the truth, a former rival appears out of nowhere, inviting Kismet to join him on a search for the mythical Golden Fleece. Although Kismet dismisses the possibility that the Fleece is real, he soon realizes that the search may bring him one step closer to unmasking the mysterious Prometheus group and solving the puzzle of his own origins. Accompanied by the beautiful daughter of a kidnapped Russian exile, Kismet follows in the footsteps of the legendary Argonauts, and sets out for the Republic of Georgia, the site of the ancient kingdom of Colchis. There he will discover that the Fleece is no mere story, but is instead the key to a devastating new weapon. Kismet’s quest will take him from the deserts of North Africa to the urban jungles of Manhattan to the snow covered mountains of Georgia…but to keep the Golden Fleece from falling into the hands of his greatest enemy, Kismet will have to go...

Into the Black Sean Ellis Books

I had the pleasure many years back of reading a an early draft of this story (under the title above) and loved it. Eight or nine years ago I lost touch with Sean (whom I knew online as Nick Kismet) and recently decided to try to look him up. What I found was this book. Having read it and compared it to the older version, I'm very impressed. I'll be buying more of his books, and sincerely hope to find one I knew under the title "The Unrevealed Heart."

Into the Black Sean Ellis Books Reviews

Filled with non-stop action and adventure, Into the Black has something for everyone. A fast paced page turner to the end, Nick Kismet joins the ranks of the big league action heroes.
Nick Kismet is a lover of all things antiquity, so he naturally succumbs to the temptation to follow a rival on a search for the mythical Golden Fleece. He receives covert help from an old college crush who's now a government agent with an agenda of her own. Those who choose to manipulate Nick do so for their own gain and entice him into their game by dropping tidbits that might reveal the details of his shadowy past.

Allying himself with a beautiful Russian American woman, they soon discover the Golden Fleece may not be myth after all. As pieces of the mystery are discovered, Nick learns the Fleece isn't just a wonderful, albeit ancient, artifact for the modern world, but is potentially the key to a highly destructive weapon. Nick is now more determined than ever to make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands, even if it means his own death.

Author Sean Ellis has proven himself again with Into The Black. Nick Kismet reminds me a little of James Bond, that agent who although he's injured throughout his adventures always seems to bounce back with relative ease. This time, the permanent bachelor has combined forces with the intelligent but beautiful daughter of an exiled Russian and romantic elements weave throughout the story. For those who may have only touched upon the mythical tale of Jason and the Argonauts, this story educates as well as titillates. Pulse-pounding action and intricate sub-plots will have the reader eagerly turning the pages for more and craving another Nick Kismet adventure, long after the last page is read.

This guy writes action like nobody's business. Fast paced, well detailed. He's a very visual writer, which movie-lovers will appreciate. And once he gets on a roll, there's nothing to do but hang on, because you're in for a wild ride! Two thumbs up. I'd give hin three thumbs up, but I'd have to borrow one...
